1. A8. Below are the results of two regression models: Regression A: y ≈ -2x1; R2 = 0.63 Regression B: y ≈ 1.5x2 ; R2 = 0.44
State if each of the following statements is true or false:
(a) The correlation coefficient between y and x1 is 0.63. [1 mark]
(b) If x2 changes from 1 to 3, then according regression B, y will change by 3. [1 mark]
(c) If x1 decreases by 0.5, then y will decrease by 1.
