imagine this scenerio:

you have a gf and family your supposedly happy with, everythings going smoothly.

your talking on fb to a female friend from school (9 years since leaving school so quite a long friendship), however your gf does NOT know that your talking to this girl.

every message you send to her and all bar one she sends to you, you delete bar the one that says "not talking to me now xxx".

what would the reason be for deleting these messages.

Tell him to say wtf going on, if its lies (you should be able to tell) than take him to her house, knock on door and say "his all yours"

Because the guy is an intelligence operative and she's his commander.

Or because the guy doesn't want his GF to think that something is happening when it's clearly not and is worried she'll extrapolate and infer from a short conversation that he's potentially interested in someone else?

Option 3, they were discussing the art of cooking dauphinoise potatoes and didn't want the secret leaked.
