Criminology degree?

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to apply for uni later this year, being that I will be a mature student I really want to make sure I choose the right course. I was wondering what careers and jobs can you get with a degree in criminology. While I find the subject and look of the degree very fascinating I was told by a friend of mine that it can be very open and hard to find related employment afterwards (she studied it herself).

I am also looking to apply for a degree in social work. Any thoughts or recommendations, would be super helpful and welcome!
Most graduate schemes don't require a specific degree, any subject will do - they just want applicants to have a degree. This could be anything from the civil service, accounting, banking, media, charities, Transport for London and everything in between.

But if you want to be a social worker then you should study social work and not criminology.
I'm on a Criminology Degree. Many students are looking to go into Probation, police, and related professions.
