Fons Trompenaars has two opinions regarding time. One is sequential time and the other is synchronous time.

Sequential means people like events in their lives to happen in a set order. The reason for this is they may not like their time being wasted. It also could be due to the culture that believes “time is money”. This attitude is generally found in western countries such as America and a business manager may find this attitude towards time conflicts with individuals in eastern countries such as Japan. These cultures view time flexibly and often work on many projects at once in a collaborative manner; synchronous time.
