Is a month before course starts enough time to find NW London acommodation?

So I got my PG loan, course starts early October and handed in notice at work and last day will be Aug 28th - giving me the whole of September to find digs.

I'll be looking for somewhere close to Middlesex University, either walking or by bicycle ride, a room in a shared house either with other students or just working people, not really fussy which.

A month should be enough time right? I know competition for London digs is fierce, but i hope a month will be long enough as I need to work until end of Aug for the extra month's pay.

I have a budget of about ideally £500 Per Calendar Month hopefully with bills included or about £460 plus bills.

I do not want to room share ideally.

Search during September when competition is fierce and it's a landlord's market, or wait until after October commute for a few weeks and try to find something when the clamour has died down...?

I guess having both as an option is best bet...?

The London market moves very fast and I'd be surprised if it took you longer than a week or two at most to find somewhere.
