Hi there, I've received an unconditional offer at DMU and decided to go there for university. I don't drive and was planning on taking the train to go there. Can someone let me know where I can get cheap train tickets to Leicester? I've got no idea how to do this, should I get a season ticket although I won't be going everyday or should I just get tickets everyday. and if someone already commutes to Leicester by car, is there anyway I can tag along?

Hi Kamiin, congratulations on your offer to come and study with us at DMU! There are plenty of students who commute to us on a regular basis. If you're looking at travelling on the train, we'd advise investing in a student railcard to get train tickets at a cheaper rate.

There are also local bus services from Arriva and Stagecoach that also provide student tickets for the whole year (September - July) which may be worth looking into as well.

I'm commuting from Birmingham by the way

Ah okay, well it may be worth looking into a railcard and season tickets offered online through certain train companies like Cross Country.
