Who learns languages in their spare time?

Poll

What language do you learn as a hobby?

I’m doing french in school atm, starting spanish as well as french gcse next year, but I also learn Welsh in my spare time, and did do Japanese although I’ve forgotten most of it :P. What languages do you guys learn?

haha, same with french - we were told we were the worst year 8 form in the entire year, and when we asked how many year 8 forms our teacher had, she yelled ‘shut up’ bc she only had us😂😂 idk i just find it interesting, it’s a beautiful language
Not too long ago I made a start on learning French and Dutch as well as building up on Spanish and Japanese that I knew from GCSE but I dunno.. life is a bit busy for me at the moment so that's all on hold atm but I wish to continue in the near future.

I'm learning css atm, but I learnt python, assembly and lisp for fun, though I forgot most of them by now
Swedish isn't on there  been trying to find the time to learn it but it's been so hard, maybe in a few months.

I am doing Korean at the moment, but also a bit of Greek on the side  Did about 2 years of Spanish but it's all gone out of my head since I started Korean! xD I like learning small bits of other languages too, such as Japanese and Chinese ^_^
Currently learning Danish and Chinese for fun, and starting a degree in French and German in October. I do want a career in languages (as an interpreter, ideally), and I'd love to keep learning new languages throughout my life. I'm only 18, so I have years ahead of me to just keep learning, which is really exciting to me!

I'm currently starting Welsh and Dutch in my (limited) spare time - thinking about French and Japanese as well.

I did gcse French and I really enjoyed it so I try to learn more in my spare time.
Just finished Spanish A level, in my spare time I'm trying Korean and Portuguese. Finding Portuguese much easier though haha.

What do you use to teach yourself?
Well, I'm very good at Python, and learning Scheme, C, and Go for fun...

But seriously, I love learning languages. Doing German in school at the moment, French and Danish on the side, and plan to learn Russian, Dutch, Italian, Czech, and Lithuanian when I find the time. Gotta catch (.. or learn) them all!

I'm learning Korean too! largely because of my kpop obsession but it is a beautiful language
French and Spanish (voted French on the poll as I'm much better at it atm).

I honestly don't understand why language learning is so undervalued and often mocked in this country. This is even coming from a brexiteer.

You're improving yourself, vastly improving mental health and protecting against mental diseases, hugely increasing your romantic and job chances, etc.

exactly - i’m a brexiter (albeit a socialist one) but learning languages is a beautiful hobby
I'm learning Welsh :h:

In addition to A-level French, also done GCSE Spanish and hoping to continue it alongside French at uni

I love learning languages and want to learn so many more
