1. Find the area of the shaded bit

Find the area of the shaded bit
Are you asking us for the answer? Let's see what you've got.

Edit: Is the bottom left corner should be shaded? It's fairly straight forward in that case.
3. (20*10) (Total area of the shape) - (2(3.141...*25)) (Area of the circles) - ((100-(3.141...*25)/4) (Area of the weird unshaded part in the bottom left corner) = 37.56?

No I know the answer. And no the question is as it should be.

Want to share the working? Because being given an answer without working is completely pointless....

Try and work it out perhaps? Because giving a question and the answers with the working is completely pointless too.

Being given the working is pretty pointless too

Try it yourself. You have all the knowledge.
11. Being on summer holiday makes me pretty reluctant to attempt to do anything other than multiplication tables....But fineee
12. I think I know where I went wrong......
13. Nope.
Now I've got 16.1

My brain is dead people.
14. NOW YOU'RE MAKING ME SCARED I FAILED GCSE MATHS.

Thanks a lot.

I said GCSE-level because the knowledge required is GCSE

That doesn't mean the difficulty is what you'd find in a GCSE paper. I'm sure you're fine in that! Don't stress
16. 20*10 x
2(3.14...*25) y
x-y=42.92....

ans/2=21.46...

21.46

Now what??
17. Is this truly a GCSE problem though? I'm unsure how GCSE students would approach the area for the bottom left corner. Circle theorems, perhaps?
18. 4(25-(Pie*5^(2)/4)=21.46

dunno how you get the right answer but I got this
Edit: I thought the bottom bit is shaded nvm im wrong

19. lol I didn't get the answer in a GCSE way, used C1/C2, so presumably I missed the "trick"
I never was good at this maths challenge style stuff

Err try and look at exactly what you're supposed to calculate and compare it to what you've calculated. Remember there's a diagonal

Yeah there are lots of ways. I used C12 at first (integration) to just brute force it.
