Not that I am considering doing it, but do university's actually check up on the work experience you say that you've done on your personal statement. Such as if you've said you've volunteered at a care home?

    This depends

If you're applying for a course where work experience is an important part of the selection process then yes they are likely to check.

If you're applying for a course where work experience isn't an important part of the selection process then they wont check - but why bother lying if it isn't something admissions staff are looking for.

So from reading this I pressume you're applying for something like social work or medicine? The course I am applying for does not want any work experience but on my personal statement I stated some of the work experience I did for slightly over eggrated what my role was 😌
    I'm a university employee.

Why did you lie about what your role was? Did you think you would be rejected if you were honest about what you'd done?
