In 2015 40% of the people accepted by their firm choice missed their predictions by 2 or more grades.

Great stats, I love reading this kind of stuff to get some perspective.....but where in the public domain do you pick this up? UCAS's website contains reports on 2016 applications which seem very general to me. I'd love to know the detail on things like how many applicants there were for my sons chosen course versus 2016 places available across the UK or against 2015 applications etc etc. Too specific or even too sensitive perhaps for them to release?
Different stats are in different places.

For example example you can see Offer rates, etc per course at http://university.which.co.uk. But not per year, because it doesn't much matter really.

It relates to predictions not offers. But both universities and colleges are now in an arms race - referees know universities will usually take lower grades so bump up prediy. Universities know predictions are higher so keep their offers high to avoid being picked as insurance and to give them more flexibility to manage numbers.
Gosh, PQ - what an intricate game it all is! Most informative, thank you.

    Similar story to last year

In the long term Brexit might mean a lowering of standards but doubt it will make much difference this year. If anything there might be a rush to get in before we're out?
