I was just wondering how much I should be saving so that when I finish my degree , I have enough money to keep me going. I was thinking of saving £1000 a year (so £3000 in total) but when I think about it, I hope to secure a top finance job when I leave uni and will probably be living with my parents in London so do I even need to save much at all?

As much as you can. I wouldn't go to university with a specific figure in mind, but if you can live frugally then do it. There's no point spending money on things you don't need. Getting a head start on saving for a deposit (even if buying a house seems like a long way off) is a very good idea.
