Shared apartments vs studio flats

Ive got the option to choose between an ensuite room in a shared apartment or a studio. Money isn't a worry but would staying in a studio be too antisocial for my first year? There is a large common room on the first floor but i'm worried not having a shared kitchen will mean not meeting any of the other people staying around me. Any experiences with studios?

I've never stayed in halls however it depends on what you like.

Halls, you share and have people around

Your own place you can do what you like when you like and have time away from others with option of inviting friends back. I personally would opt for the studio. But up to you. Good luck! C

If you want to meet people and socialise then I would definitley go with the ensuite room. If you want a much quieter experience go with the studio. There is no guarentee a common room would be used much and studios tend to be favoured by international and mature/postgraduate student.
people in studios are more isolated... you'll avoid arguing with flatmates but people generally stick to their flat at first so it will be harder in a studio
