Conversation - I think the headscarf is wrong (and I am a male who believes in Islam)

I don't think that the headscarf is right, and I'm Muslim.
I see some really good friends of mine that are girls and they don't wear a headscarf. I don't care if they do or don't, but I feel as if such things can restrict the freedom that our religion gives to women.
I personally haven't seen any passage in the Holy Book to suggest that it should be worn, so I want a conversation about it and see what we think.

UPDATE Damn it I posted it in the wrong forum.

The awrah has to be covered and hair is part of the awrah for women
