I'm thinking of learning how to drive. I'm going to book lessons to drive but was wondering whether I needed to book my theory test well in advance ? Can you take the theory test whenever you want and set a date that works for you ?

You have two years from the date your pass your theory to also pass your practical test. If you do not do your practical in those two years you will have to re-do the theory.

Yes you can book it for a time and date that suits you xx

Personally I would book your theory before you even begin to start driving! I made the mistake of beginning my lessons first and having to wait a while until I could book my practical.

Depending on the area you live in, some people are having to wait 3/4 months for their practical which is ridiculous - so get your theory out of the way ASAP.
