Hey! So I've have a high platelet count and low iron for as long as I can remember. 6 months of iron tablets didn't change a thing and my haematologist refused to acknowledge there was any issue with that so my doctor has referred me to a new one at a different hospital. I just got back from my first appointment and he's not happy with my blood work. Nothing is dangerously out of range, but it's not been resolved yet and it's been so many years now - 10 at least. I have to go back to have an iron infusion on Monday and I was wondering if anyone had done this before. I just want to know about how long it might take and what was involved, really. I imagine they'll do it quite slowly in my case because my body is very sensitive and reacts badly to most things going in, but I guess we'll see. Thanks!

Edit: Just realised I titled it wrong, with 'transfusion' spelt wrong. I'm not good with all this words stuff. My bad. I meant infusion!
