Obtain the Fourier transform of the function f(t) = 2 cos 4 t - cost

Can someone help me with this? thank you.

Happy to help, if you could perhaps elaborate on which part you having trouble with?

It may help to note that this function is periodic; cos(4*t) completes a cycle at intervals of pi/2, and cos(t) completes a cycle at intervals of 2*pi, so their sum completes a cycle every 2*pi. That means you can decompose this function into a Fourier series, which is probably what you want. Do you know how to compute a Fourier series of a function?
