Ok so I got my Gov&Pol results back yesterday along with my other 3 AS Levels. I got a B in Politics, and I know I should be grateful for that. However, over the year I've been consistently achieving A grades/full marks in Politics, and in the mock got 68/80 on Unit 1.
For me to get a B in Politics was a major shock. I'm a bit confused by the Mark Equiv section as well. I got 73 on Unit 1, and 80 on Unit 2 in UMS points. To get an A overall I will need to gain 7 UMS marks in Unit 1, and in raw marks this works out as 5 marks. My Politics teacher has also said she was shocked by the outcome. The fact the lower grade was in Unit 1 was also a shock as Unit 1 has always been my better side and I had revised the exact questions before hand as I predicted them correctly etc.
(I also think I answered one or two questions on the back page after leaving a gap for the rest of the page after doing my 25 marker, not sure if this would have anything to do with it?)
What I want to know is if it's possible to go up by 7 UMS? I'd like to think I had a really harsh examiner but I might've fluked the exam, who knows! If it does come back as still a B, I'll resit the exam happily haha.
I wouldn't be bothered if it wasn't for the fact AS Politics counts for 50% of the final grade as it's not linear!
Thanks for any help!
