Use the fact that and proceed with the left side.
3. If in doubt, multiply both sides by the product of the denominators... in this case, (x-1)(x+1)(4), then you usually end up with a quadratic equation to solve.

Sometimes you might see faster ways, but this one should be foolproof. And *hint* always keep you eyes peeled for the difference of two squares... how do you factorise x^2 - 1?
