York Sports membership question

Aside from gym and the pool, what else does the membership include? Does it include tennis/badminton courts and other sports or are they pay-as-you-go at the uni?

Hello,

I've been in touch with York Sport to clarify this for you.

York Sport operates two branches; the Sport Centre based at Campus West and the Sport Village at Campus East.

Without requiring a membership, the Sport Centre offers 'pay as you gym' sessions at £6 a time, and the fitness classes are roughly £4 each.

If you take membership at the Sport Centre, this includes unlimited use of the gym, unlimited fitness classes and you are also entitled to a discount for court hire at either the Sports Centre (e.g. tennis, badminton, squash) or The Sports Village (3G football).

Membership at the Sport Village includes unlimited use of the gym, swimming pool, fitness classes and health suite (spa pool, sauna and steam room).

You must be a member to use the gym, health suite and attend fitness classes at the Sport Village but you can pay as you swim.

As a member of the Sports Village you will also be eligible for discounted court hire, even where the courts are located at the Sport Centre.

For an extra £5 on top of your Sports Village membership only, you can have access to both branches.

Anyone can hire a court of any kind on any venue, subject to availability, without being a member of either the Sports Centre or the Sports Village.

All of the details are on the York Sports website. You will notice that membership costs at the Sports Village and the Sports Centre are discounted for students.

I hope this answers your question.

all the best,
Mark
