Privante Candidate for A2

I havé no désire to remain in my current classroom to study A level chemistry.
For the new syllabus I would like to know if it is possible to sit A2 Chem privately without
1. Taking the AS also and
2. Without a lab based third unit.

Probably not but the board and your teachers would be able to better advise you.

Hi,

You can take the AQA A-Level Chem via this provider:

You don't need to take the AS, but the AS material is within the A2 papers, therefore you will need to be good with it.
You would need to organise sitting the exams as a private candidate at an exam centre yourself.
Practicals are a tricky one. No they don't count towards your grade, but much of the findings from such practicals are assessed via the exams, and are not taught otherwise.
Furthermore some universities will want you to have the practical element, particularly if you're interested in Medicine for example.

Hope this helps*
Thanks!
I have been in contact with colleges and those private exam boards.
There are now 12 practicles which have to be run through a college and in NI there are no private licenses for practicals from individuals.
Ill speak to my teachers tomorrow at induction.
