Just wanting to let you know about my favourite society, Photosoc. Literally the best, I'm not biased in saying that at all. We won event of the year for 2015-2016, so we must be good?
Anyway, we do workshops to improve your skills as a photographer, such as studio photography. We've done light painting in the past, pin hole cameras and we regularly go out on walks around some of the best landscape in Wales.
Everyone is very friendly and approachable, especially the comity. It doesn't matter if you only have a phone to shoot pictures on, we have gear that you can borrow so you don't have to feel left out of the dslr game.
If you're a film photographer, we are in the process of getting our darkroom back together. That should hopefully be done before second semester, so developing and printing your pictures should be a reality soontm . And if you do want to try film, we have a lot cameras in storage that you can use.
If you are interested in joining, you'll be able to sign up during serendipity (A fair of sorts for all the societies at the University) during September 21st - 22nd.
