Hello
I was made a conditional offer for a PhD program starting October 2016. I met all the offer's conditions but one, that has required many documents to be sent to the Graduate Admissions, even after the initial 31st of July deadline for an arrival in MT 2016 (the rhythm of communication with the Graduate Admission is slow at this time of year). I've received a warning message in the self-service account last week asking me to send a final document for this specific condition. I've sent the document and it should get to the University within days.
But since the start of the course is on the 1st of October, how can I know if I will be fully admitted before getting to Cambridge, specifically when documents received by post necessitate around 14 days of assessment? (which means they will only give their input on it in the first weeks of September)
Does it happen that a student starts a course without fulfilling all conditions before the start of the course (for example meeting one of the condition after the course has started) ?
And if the last document sent was assessed insufficient in the 14 coming days, does it mean I lose my offer for not meeting all conditions ?
I'm considering a deferral in that specific case in order to avoid any risk.
Any help/piece of advise would be more than welcomed as I'm an international student and am not familiar with these procedures.
Thanks !
