1. So im taking economics at AS in september and was wondering how hard is it? My maths is pretty good (A* at GCSE) but I've been told by some people that there isn't really much maths at all? Others have told me there is loads though so im a little confused.

Economics isn't that hard. You just need to be patient with it, at first it will be a load of non sense but if you keep trying with it, it will become second nature and the top A grade is easy to achieve and yes there is very little maths in the first year, in the second year there is quite a bit more.
3. Sorry you've not had any responses about this. Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

4. I dropped econ at AS (grade D) 2 years ago.
For me it was dreary.
5. I'm assuming with the reformed system you will only be taking the AS level?

AS Economics contains very little maths. You will need to remember one or two formulas which only contain simple division. The rest might be straightforward ratios, fractions and percentages. Your A* maths will let you sail through these parts.

In terms of the economic theory, I don't think it's particularly difficult to grasp. It may seem new and strange to start with but it becomes very intuitive later on.
