Sorry if this is a bit long winded but here goes:

As it stands I'm currently doing an IT Apprenticeship (PROCOM Level 3). Started February 2015 and originally meant to end this month, however as I wanted to do level 3 the end date has moved to March 2017, but i'm only contracted until the end of October.

At the moment i'm thinking about discontinuing with it for a number of reasons.

Firstly i'm finding the work/coursework balance quite hard due to the demands of work and the content required on the coursework. To make things worse I wasn't properly inducted to college until about 8 weeks into the start of the apprenticeship and I didn't start getting assessed until the September of that year as they took time to replace the assessor that left when I started.

Secondly another colleage who joined midway though his apprenticeship (around May this year) from another employer, has managed to start and finish the same course within a year and he was with a different training provider and says it was easier.

Lastly I don't always feel adequate due to my lack of knowledge which I feel hinders me on certain occasions and I don't feel that i'll be wanted after completing (If I stay)

What are peoples thoughts? Shall I carry on or find something alternative?

Don't leave just for the sake of it. Sit tight for now. But look around at other opportunities that interest you (and might be interested in you with the experience you have). Best time & place to look for a new role is while you are still in a job.
Remember - you're an apprentice. Whilst its easy to be hard on yourself, you're still a trainee and people won't expect you to have all the answers.
Just make sure that you're asking all the right questions to fill any gaps in your knowledge.

    Good luck.

Always try and finish it, get all your qualifications then look elsewhere.
