Good unis for History??

I recently finished my AS and received BBCC in Psychology, History, English literature and Media studies. I want to study History at university and was wondering what universities are good for History with the grade requirements of AAB-ABB?

Thanks in advance

Try something like this http://university.which.co.uk/courses if you input your grades and the course you want it will provide you with a list of universities that meet your requirements.

I had a quick look for you and UEA is on this list, I may be biased as I took my undergrad there in Art History but the History department is good. I have a number of friends who took History there, with special interests from the middle ages to modern history. I've seen the module outlines from last year and the year before and there is a huge range of options from the Italian Courts to the Harlem Renaissance, pretty much whatever you are interested in you will probably find. You can also take modules in other departments such as landscape history, cultural anthropology and art history (UEA's art history dept is unlike most in the UK, it is very material culture based covering many cultures from Mesopotamia to the Pacific).

Good luck in your studies, wherever you choose to apply to!

Thanks so much! It was very useful for finding out which universities do history and the details surrounding intake, graduate salary etc. I will check out UEA, sounds like they have a good history department!

I did my undergrad at UEA and graduated three years ago and just completed a masters course elsewhere.

If you do go to UEA it does have a good history department. John Charmley is rather controversial within historical circles but equally well-known amongst modernists. He wrote a very lengthy biography of Churchill.

If you enjoy medieval history and find yourself specialising in that in your third year, Nick Vincent is the *global* authority on Magna Carta and to have him supervise a dissertation at even undergrad level would be something you will probably look back upon favourably in years to come.
