Not liking "shouting" or harsher vocals is entirely understandable. It's an acquired taste, something I got into through metal first and now it doesn't phase me and often enhances the music. There's far more raw energy in hardcore music than most other genres.

If you like the solid guitar ****ed Up has to offer, then you should definitely check out Bad Brains. They're one of the main pioneering bands of hardcore punk and they have, in my opinion, the greatest guitarwork of any hardcore punk band ever.

Spoiler

 I love Bad Brains

Anyone else find it a bit annoying when they're playing their personal library radio and certain songs seem to get played so much, whilst some other songs don't seem to get played at all that much, if ever? I mean, a bit more of a mix would be nice.

Whenever I put Ludovico Einaudi radio on, Einaudi's and Ballaké Sissoko Chameaux seems to come on every hour. I mean it's not bad enough to ban but it gets annoying having to skip it when it's been on 5 times already when doing coursework. :unimpressed:

It's probably just because there's more in common all the way through the top artists! Although I must admit that the compatibility thing confuses me sometimes!

Hmm, well Pendulum are a good bridge group, as in they have rock and drum & bass elements, so there is a route in there. Then Chase & Status are also quite easy to get into - then from there I listened to the liquid of people like Netsky, London Elektricity and got my hands on the Hospitality compilations. I have a friend whose into pretty hardcore neuro, but started this way, I've stuck with Liquid really.

(Also once you get into DnB mentioning C&S or Pendulum is likely to get you lynched lol)

I did have a bit of a Killers obsession a while ago, I've grown out of that now but I do still enjoy a Sam's Town run through every now and then!
