I am a student on a two year break. | couple months back I had to call student finance for something I can't recall, after the original purpose of my call ended, the advisor offhandedly mentioned that they sent a letter to me regarding my current details, and that if I did not respond to it then the interest rate on my loan would increase. I didn't receive the letter as I wasn't living at my contact address at the time.

    What is this?

You'll have to phone them and ask. You'll also need to update your contact details with them.
