is a remark likely to go up by 1 mark?

Well it depends what subject. Subjects like science and maths are less likely because the mark scheme is a lot more clear cut, it's right or it's wrong. Essay subjects such as English would probably be more likely to as it's subjective.
    Good luck with your remark.

It can vary depending on the subject, apparently the 'subjective' subjects e.g. english and history are more likely to change than subjects with quite solid answers and mark schemes like maths and science. But I'd say you might as well go for the remark, you wouldn't go down a grade and it's much more likely to change by 1 mark than 2 or 3!

It really depends on what subject you're thinking of getting remarked. If it's an essay subject, going up by a mark is much more likely than a science subject, for example physics. But it's always worth a shot! Esp since you're so close to the grade boundary haha :-)
