Absolutely gutted I completed 3 years of a 5 year part-time degree course which was funded by the company I then worked for. I was made redundant and had to take a minimum wage job so couldn't afford to pay the tuition fees plus my day off work to continue studying so I had to give the course up.(Note: I achieved a CertHe.)I have just been accepted on a new full time degree course starting in September 2016. When I spoke to someone from Student Finance they said that if I send a letter in from the University stating that the years I had studied amounted to 1 year full time then they would be able to fund me for the 3 full years of my new course. Well, I sent the letter in but have since spoken to someone else who said they had consulted with those higher up and that the part-time years are counted as 3 full years so I can only get funding for 1 year of my course. This means I can't afford to go to University. I am absolutely devastated. Do you think if I appeal I have any chance of getting funding?
