oxidation numbers of elements

Anyone to help me with the oxidation number of POTASSIUM element in this compound - potassium permanganate(KMnO4)

if there is any working or explanation, please am all ears

Potassium permanganate is a salt. The K has a charge of 1+ and the MnO4 has a total charge of 1-.*

Now oxygen normally has an oxidation number of 2-, and if the overall charge of MnO4 is 1- that would make the oxidation number of the Manganese 7+. Think 7+(4*-2) =-1*
