GCSE - National 5 equivalent?

Hi there, I just did my National 5s and starting Higher. I was doing some research about the exams in England and I saw that you could get A* and As. Here in Scotland the GCSE equivalent's (National 5) highest grade is an A. Although we do get band 1 As and band 2 As. I was just wondering if a GCSE A* is equivalent to a Band 1/Band 2 A.

Thanks

A* is the highest grade you can achieve on a GCSE so I would say that this would be the same as an A at band 1 (I believe this is the highest that can be achieved in Scotland), and that an A at GCSE would be an A at band 2.
My daughter is applying for a course in London. We live in Scotland. It is asking for 5 GCSE's A*-C. Can anyone tell me the equivalent in Scottish exam results. She has 7 National 5's and 5 Scottish Highers and she is currently taking 2 advanced highers and another higher
