So I'm going into my second year of sixth form and have attempted to drop AQA Core Maths Level 3 as I am really unhappy with the subject - I didn't even want to do it in the first place and have tried dropping it multiple times throughout the year.
I told my sixth form that I did not want to do the subject any longer and have just received a text from my head of year to say that I have to continue with it.
I want to write an email back to him to explain why I don't want to do it any longer but I'm not sure what to write.
As far as I can see, the universities I am going for, don't even acknowledge the subject. I will be doing Chemistry, Biology, History and EPQ in Year 13 and want to focus on bringing my grades up in those subjects - two extra hours a week (when I would have core maths) would help massively (something which I don't think they understand).
If they force me to continue, should I just not go to the lessons anyway?
Please help, I'm really tired of doing this subject, it makes the days when I have those lessons pass extremely slowly and it essentially ruins my mood
