I left school with good grades, left college with average grades and no idea what I wanted to do. I worked in HR as an apprentice for a year, and left because I decided to go to uni to study Business.

I graduated in July, and even though I now have a degree in Business and a years worth of experience, I cant even get an interview in a Business related field. I went for one for a Junior HR Administrator which I could do with my eyes closed, but the company didnt call me back. All these jobs only request GCSE's and all I get is emails saying 'Sorry you haven't met our requirements' for the same position I worked for a year, but now have a degree in!

I have am applying to carry on at uni in 2017 because I'm feeling so disheartened.

I'd love to work, so what am I doing wrong? How was it easier to get interviews when I didn't have a degree?

Poorly written CV, lack of relevant experience, other candidates stood out more or generic interview answers.

It was actually easier for me to get interviews with a degree + experience than it was for a work placement after 2nd year of uni, so it is probably something wrong with your application process.

The trick is not to lose hope but make improvements. Start with your CV and see how that goes.
