Hi, I have decided to choose IB with the following subject choices at the moment: Maths HL, Physics HL, Computer Science HL, English SL.

I need to choose 2 more SL subjects; my question is, is Japanese SL hard for a beginner because the school does not offer beginner's Japanese, only Italian and Spanish. Furthermore, in the a group subjects consisting of Economics, Psychology, Business Management, History, Global Politics, Theatre and Anthropology which subjects are less of an essay based subject? Also I have taken my Chinese GCSE and AS with an A*A. Would I be allowed to take Chinese SL?

Ask your school if you're allowed to take Chinese SL, they should be able to advise you on that. If not, I'm pretty sure ab initios would be easier than a new language at SL.

I agree with the post above.
Wouldn't exactly recommend taking a language you've never studied before at B SL.. In that case ask your school if they teach the ab intio program.
