# Mechanics T1 T2 finding forces

Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016
1. I have the following equations

T1 cos10 + T2 cos30 = 0
T1 sin10 + T2 sin30 = 500

How can I solve these?

I know cos30 =
I know sin30 =

So I did

T1 cos10 + T2 * = 0
T1 sin10 + T2 * = 500

This simplified to
2T1 cos10 + T2 cos30 = 0
2T1 sin10 + T2 sin30 = 1000

I am now stuck.

Rearrange one of them for either or then substitute it into the other.

I did this and got the answer.
Thanks very much.
