Do I need to take english literature GCSE?
I'm doing lang at the minute, is lit important?
Yes, it's important—especially for your school. Your progress is measured by something called progress 8. English is doubled weighted in terms of attainment points (with which your progress is calculated) but you have to have both Lang and Lit for it to count as such. It is not so important for you personally — most entry requirements for further study take your Language grade (unless of course you want to study English Literature A-Level.)
