Hi guys. I'm looking to apply for medicine in 2018. Currently, I have just started 6th form.
In my GCSE's I achieved 6 A*'s, 3 A's and 1 B [[EXCLUDING CHEMISTRY GCSE WHICH HAS GONE FOR REMARKING DUE TO CONTROLLED ASSESSMENT AND IS AT LEAST AN A BUT MOST PROBABLY AN A*]], plus an A in FSMQ.
Also, I have got a grade 5 Merit in guitar, have played badminton for my old school and have participated in Rubik's Cube competitions.
Currently, I have only shadowed a paedatrician in India for a day to learn about diseases that are only found in India and not in UK. Also, I am soon going to start volunteering at a care home for a year, and will also tutor young students in my school for around six months. From September to November I am enrolled in B'ham's mini medical school to give an insight into the career.
My question is, let's say I achieve AAAA in my AS levels (Biology, Chem, Physics, Maths) and AAA*A* in my A2 levels, with an average UKCAT score, how much more and what kind of other work experience should I pursue, if i'm looking at B'ham, Liverpool, Manchester and Brighton & Sussex.?
From GCSE to A level, it's all changing
