1. im totally stuck on this question:

A particle is accelerated from 1m/s to 5m/s over a distance of 15m. Find the acceleration and the time taken.

how do i find the acceleration without knowing the time and how do i find the time without knowing the acceleration??????

write down all the information you know and you should be able to use one of the SUVAT equations.
when trying to find acceleration, U=1, V=5, S=15, A=? so what equation can you use here?
for working out time taken, U=1, V=5, S=15, T=? so again which equation can you use?
3. U have inital velocity, final velocity and distance: U, V and S in the suvat equations. So calculate A then calculate T

Use the equation v^2 =u^2 +2as and then rearrange for a. Then after you get a use v=u+at and rearrange to get t.
