1. Please may someone let me know the independent, dependent and control variables in my method, plus their units. If possible, please may you lay the answer out like so:
Independent Variable - *variable*(unit)
Dependent Variable - *variable*(unit)
Control Variable - *variable*(unit)

Here is my method:
Method:
1) Have the first volunteer. the person whose reaction time will be tested, sitting on a chair with a good upright posture, eyes facing forward
2) The second volunteer, who will drop the ruler, will be standing to the side of the chair
3) The volunteer will be catching the ruler with his/her thumb and index finger. The ruler used will be 30cm. It will be dropped with 1 cm at the bottom and 30 cm at the top
4) The ruler should be 2cm above the first volunteers fingers. The volunteer will be aware that the ruler will drop, just not sure when
5) The second volunteer drops the ruler. When the volunteer catches it, read the number above his/her thumb. The lower the number, the faster the reaction time
6) The experiment will be done 10 times, from the same height every time. The reaction time should steadily improve
7) Read the results and calculate an average (mean)
8) Try this on one other volunteer to increase the validity

2. This is not an experiment, and as such there is no independent variable. You are not changing anything, youre just testing the reaction time of a human.
