Best place to live in Birmingham ?

Where would you say is the BEST area of Birmingham to live in as a student ?

In terms of transport links, low criminality, shopping, nightlife etc ...

Selly Oak - it's where all the students live in second and third year. It's a 5-15 minute walk into university, and a 10 minute train ride into town centre.
