I have received my NHS bursary and it's so ridiculously low - a much smaller amount than I thought it could be. They have calculated the basic award at £2640 + the grant..
Is there a way to appeal this, or find out how they've calculated it?
My rent is low, but I will be travelling a lot. I'm pretty worried how I'm supposed to live on this amount plus a basic loan. To make it worse the uni offers a large bursary to all students apart from NHS students :s

It gets calculated on your parents income unless you're an 'independent' applicant and the no of weeks your course is (check this is right). If your parents earn over a certain amount then they are expected to help you. The letter should say how much the bursary people are expecting them to put towards your funds. The maximum is about £450 a month.

I had to work every weekend, even with the maximum bursary and so did a lot of the other people on my course.

Thanks I'm 'mature' so no parents help! I guess I'll find a way!
