    Looks very odd, having the eurocentric map ingrained in my mind.

    Anyone from Australia/China/East know if the pacific centric map is common in those places? or is eurocentric the standard

    I wouldn't have thought it dominates because of the International Date Line.

    Edit: Apparently it is common there.

    Nothing much unusual about this, many maps are skewed so that the country they originate from is centred.

    Russian maps, for example, are often skewed so that Moscow is roughly where London would appear on our maps. It means that the North American continent is then split between the far left and right sides of the map.
