    Hi All,

Sorry if this isn't the right section to post this question... Moderators can move this post to the appropriate section if need be...

Coming to the actual question... My University teaches one Foreign Language for free and I would like to utilize this opportunity to learn a new language... My questions is which language will enhance my chances of landing a job???

I was initially thinking of learning German... But I am now thinking whether I should learn any of the Scandinavian languages... Any suggestions???

It really depends on what kind of job you want to have. German is a good all-rounder, it is one of the three working languages of the EU (along with English and French) and a lot of UK companies do business with Germany. But there are also a lot of job opportunities for native English speakers who speak niche European languages (Dutch, Danish, Swedish etc), especially if you want to go into translating.

You can't go wrong with one of German, French, Russian, Dutch or one of the Scandinavian languages.
