am i ready for uni

    honestly i did not do too great in my AS (i got a BCCD), and i am struggling at the moment, as i really would like to have the uni experience, but i do not study well, and i have just found out that my dad is severely ill and so will no be able to work, leading to a shortage of money, what should i do?

    I'm so sorry to hear that you're in this position and hope that your father's health improves soon.

    I would make sue that your school/college is aware of your situation so that you can get as much support as possible. Your AS grades aren't bad at all and if you work hard I'm sure that you could get into a very respectable university. Please don't worry whether or not you are 'ready to go to university' because you sound very mature so I don't see why you wouldn't be ready for this next stage in your life. Furthermore, universities will be understanding of your situation and it will be considered when you apply.

    honestly ido not want to get into my dream unis by them feeling sorry for me, i want to achieve it- but I am not sure if i will appreciate it or if i should just start working to help my family
