The maths require in AS physics is very basic really, on my exam board they give you a formula sheet at the front of the exam, as long as you know what formula you need to use in the question and what the letters represent its easy. Do lots of past papers and you will find it easy!

To some it up i guess you could use something like trigonometry to explain, they give you a question with some figures, you need to choose the rite formula to use (i'll say s*degress= o/h). Once you do that then you just have to put the numbers in the rite place (1cm, 3cm, 30), add in constants you know (sin) and there you are sin30=1/3 (i doubt that equation i posted works)

Have you taken German A Level? It was definitely harder than Physics in my opinion, definitely at AS level anyway. And the only reason I think Physics was harder for me at A2 was because I'd only done maths to AS and because I'd started to work more for A2 German.

I'm comparing AQA Physics and German btw.
No I haven't taken German but one of my mates takes it and says its a doss
maybe hes just bragging, but universities seem to respect physics more than german so i would guess physics is harder
physics is like the most respected a level.

Haven't read all of this thread.. but put it this way -
To get the area under a graph you cut it(metaphorically) into little squares and add up the areas of squares and triangles... LOL.

If you did the edexcel exam board, then yes. I doubt you'd have much trouble.

Most the units, all the maths involved is simply plugging numbers into formulas, and possibly rearranging a formula - But that's really quite basic algebra.

You might find the last Unit hard as some questions expect you to do quite complicated manipulation of forumulas.

In all, if you work hard without being any good at Maths I think you could still pull off a B at A2, but it's very improbable you'd get an A. At AS you might manage to get an A though, the maths at that level is really very simple.

Well, you're not speaking from experience of the subject yourself, so how can you judge? And how would you know which subject universities seem to respect more? I'd say Physics and German are pretty equal in terms of respect and difficulty.

    For comparison purposes:

Physics module 2 on AQA is a mechanics paper, a few suvat equations and speed/time things...yeah yeah.

German module 2 on AQA is an essay in German on, in my case, the environment, where you had to include your knowledge of the country and grammar and opinions are taken into account.

And you reckon German isn't comparable in difficulty to Physics? Ok then...I beg to differ.
