Want to do primary education but I don't know where to start?

I want to study primary education at middlesex but I don't know where is start.. i feel like my personal statement isn't good because my work experience was in year 10 and it was in a day care centre? Do I need experience in a primary school?
Also I'm retaking my gcse maths and I don't know if they will accept me because of this

Can someone give me some advice please!!
I think you will need more recent work experience (and it really should be at a primary school) to make a competitive application. Retaking your GCSE maths shouldn't be an issue as long as you pass it. You can find more information and talk to other applicants in the Undergraduate Education forum.
You'll be ok so long as you get a C or B in your Maths. But definitely get some more experience in the Primary classroom before starting. There is a free e-book on amazon called “Should I become a primary school teacher”, its really short, and offers a lot of good advice on what to expect on Primary Education course and how to prepare for teacher training!

Hope this helps!
