I've just started uni and am currently living at home, but have changed my mind on accommodation and want to know whether it's too late to apply for a loan to cover this?

Nope. You can apply up to 9 months after the course start date - but it will take time for them to process the application, so you won't get the money for a few weeks (possibly months)
