If I don't make it into a conservatoire this year I'm contemplating pursuing my other passion of English at either Birmingham City University or Leeds Beckett.
However, are there any musical bands/clubs I could join to make up for the lack of music?

Hey there!

You can check out all the societies currently on offer here at BCU on our Students Union site, or if nothing takes your fancy you can always start something new! And as a BCU student, even if you didn't study music you'd have access to the Conservatoire, so I'm sure you could use practice rooms etc when they're free.
