Why bother with a post grad course - waste of time? 17-10-2016

My GP said something along the lines that I need to set up Consent to share before she can write a letter for my Compelling Personal Reasons application. However I've called student finance and they've said that THEY don't need anything and my doctor can write the letter readily.

Is the problem that my GP cannot release my information?

How does that work out if I'm giving my consent to write a letter for student finance.
