Why are house prices so expensive in the south east

I am just wondering why house prices are so expensive in the south east compared to properties up north? Will house prices increase in the north to the same level as the south east?
We're in a giant Housing bubble and the Chinese see London as a good place to invest their money, especially after their government keeps devaluing their currency.

closer to the capital city that's why and now that thousands of people are leaving London to go north the property up north will definitely rise
